PARTNER / DIRECTOR / PRODUCER

I'm known as Jason "Brox," which stems from a nickname I grew up with. My passion for music & movies has always been apparent, since I can remember. I've always shared an aptitude with the creative and the technical. But it wasn't until about 18 that I really fell in love with the process of production and the impact it can make - specifically filmmaking. So I jumped in, and bought some basic tools of the trade. First, a DV camera - then the next - an iMac for editing. From there, my focus became intensely about learning & doing as much as I could in this field. Because of introductions to musicians within the Minneapolis scene, most of what I started shooting was music related. At a certain point, I decided to pursue film schooling so that I could learn more about film itself. That brought me to MCTC, in Minneapolis, to begin studying the history & the basic facets of filmmaking. After a year of film history & mostly generals, I met & partnered up with Tyler Marcus to collaborate on our Film 1 final film project. Both of us being the ambitious type, we probably took that project way farther than we needed to... it was a great experience. But not so great on the finances - my schooling experience ended at the end of the following semester, when it came time to produce a small budget for the next final film project. Tyler & myself just continued to gain working experience - making more friends & building relationships with other talented people that wanted to get involved. At about this time, Joey Sal came into the picture - helping us to form MarcusBrox Ideas. With bands needing press kits & music videos, we primarily took that route, while writing & conceptualizing scripts & other "big-picture" goals. Around a period of time when our next move needed to begin moving us forward in the business arena, Chris Franke came into the picture...

Not long after Franke came into the picture & helped the MB crew take another step, another blessing took them from their operations out of an apartment in Burnsville to Winterland Studios - near Minneapolis. The studio manager, Todd Fitzgerald, was an acquaintance of Jason's from an old project at Orphan Studios, a few years back. He was looking for video artists to essentially collaborate with. So MB moved in and for about the year & a half to follow, MarcusBrox Ideas operated as a freelancing collective. In about the middle of 2006, shortly after releasing "Find Your Own Way," some tough decisions needed to be made as to the future of MarcusBrox... if there was to be one. In short, MarcusBrox Ideas needed to decide on a course of action for if, and how, it was going to get organized as a growing production company. And we're excited to say that kicking off in 2007, is the answer... MarcusBrox Productions! Chris & Jason are looking towards the future... as they work to polish & transform MarcusBrox into a highly personalized and professional production experience...
